Certus Market Update February 2020

Good afternoon Sir/Madam

The financial markets have fallen in the past week due to concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus. The Coronavirus is a serious situation in China and parts of the world, however a majority of the infected people have mild symptoms or recovered from the virus. The media coverage has been quite “sensationalised” over the past week which has caused panic with some investors.

I believe the financial markets will recover over the next 3-4 weeks after some very strong gains over the last 12 months. The New Zealand and Global Share markets had gained by 25% plus over the previous 12 month period up to 31 January 2020.

Please be patient, try not to worry and panic around the financial markets/media coverage as financial markets have historically recovered from these medical events.
